North Dakota has set several records in oil production.
In her article, Amy Dalrymple, N.D. oil production hits 1 million barrels per day reminds us of a few records that I’ve read elsewhere:
- Until April of this year, only four states have ever produced over 1M bopd: Alaska, California, Louisiana, and Texas. North Dakota makes that five.
- Only two states are currently production over 1M bopd: North Dakota and Texas, at close to 3M bopd.
- Only ten basins have produced 1M bopd. Bakken is one of them.
