Follow-up on the death of Aubrey McClendon

I’ve previously discussed the unexpected death of Aubrey McClendon, a pioneer in the fracking revolution that is changing the world. You can find my posts here. Two official reports were released this week on his fatal accident.

6/7 – Wall Street Journal – Police Probe Finds Nothing to Suggest Aubrey McClendon Committed Suicide – Two months of research by the Oklahoma City police, including criminal and accident scene investigators found no indications or hints that Mr. McClendon killed himself in the accident.

Because of the size of his estate, likely disputes regarding the estate, and the litigation he was involved in, the police put lots of effort into the investigation.

The site of the incident is quite dangerous. Another driver died there last month.

6/8 – Wall Street Journal – Crash that killed Aubrey McClendon was Accident – Autopsy reports no alcohol in the bloodstream but did find a chemical used in over-the-counter antihistamines. There is no indication of a heart-related cause for the accident.

He was speeding and was not wearing his seatbelt.

      One of the things that irritates me is utter waste. Ponder from he might have done with another 15 or 20 years left in his worklife. Can’t imagine how much we, the consumers lost.
