Census data from July 2011 is out-of-date, but the stats show three of the eight fastest growing small cities nationwide are in North Dakota: Williston, Minot, and Dickinson.
Our son is living in Williston.
Biggest constraint to even faster growth? Lack of housing:
Residents in Williston say the population would be growing even faster if there were more places to live. Housing has struggled to keep up with the inundation of workers, sending rents and home values soaring and forcing oil firms to erect “man camps,” or dormitories for thousands of workers in the oil fields.
