Here’s another field to watch – the Southern Central Oklahoma Oil Province, or SCOOP.
Motley Fool is asking Could This Oil Field Be the Next Bakken?
According to the article, Continental Resources says the 330,000 net acres they have under lease could produce 1.8B barrels. Their preliminary estimates are the field could contain 70 billion barrels oil in place.
Pay-zone is 400 feet thick, according to the article. That is the thickness of shale rock containing oil – about twice the thickness of Bakken.
Keep your eyes open.
Oh, by the way – What Peak Oil?
