The Dickinson Press reports ND airports set November boarding records.
With those increases, I’ll make a wild guess there will be more flights added to Dickinson and Williston.
Here’s the passenger boardings and percentage change from same month in prior year:
- Grand Forks 12,249 + 9.5%
- Fargo 30,199 + 7%
- Dickinson 4,191 +159.2%
- Williston 8,973 + 82.5%
- Bismarck 19,979 (9.5%)
- All other 17,070
- North Dakota 92,661 + 8.9%
To put the Dickinson increase in perspective, a StarTribune article in February ‘13, Delta Air Lines adding new flights to Dickinson, N.D., to meet oil boom demand, said Delta was planning two daily flights to Dickinson in June. Other daily flight or flights to Denver will be on United, but the number and starting date aren’t mentioned in the article. An article at Dickinson Press, Jet service taking off in Dickinson, says the Delta flights did start in June ’13
That means there will be eye-popping year-over-year increases in Dickinson traffic until July ‘14. Then the percentage increases will slow.
