Just like other areas of economic activity, farming deals with constructive assets deteriorating and being replaced.
Picture what these wonderful houses and barns looked like in their prime. Imagine how productive and helpful they were.
They were valuable and state of the art back in the day.
Time wore them down. New tech made them obsolete.
Eventually metal buildings replaced wood.
Here is what a current barn looks like.
More efficient, more useful, better storage, likely insulated, and probably cheaper on relative basis.
Eventually even that will be replaced by something better.
