Rig count in Bakken and Eagle Ford fields – 5-11-12

Count of oil field drilling rigs week of May 11 – 209 & 282.

209 Bakken – BakkenBlog has good background, lots of links, and a great twitter feed – @bakkenblog

North Dakota Oil and Gas Division has the drilling rig list here.

BakkenBlog also reports 45 permits issued by the state this week and 43 last week.

282 Eagle Ford – EagleFordShale blog reports 282 rigs in the region. That is up 11 for the week.

A few details – there are 74 natural gas rigs and 206 oil rigs. There are 260 horizontal rigs running.
